Abstract

A plastic needle for sewing e.g. canvas has an eye of variable size. The eye of the needle has thin parts let into the sides, so that the eye may be widened by pressing the head of the needle on to a hard surface. Coarse yarn or wool may thus be admitted into the eye, which holds the yarn tight on release of pressure. The needle does not become unthreaded during sewing. It is specially designed for children's use, since the plastic construction avoids the dangers encountered with a metal needle.

The invention relates to the development of a large needle in plaqtique material for making embroidery on canvas or large canvas.

 This needle is specially intended for children, the metal needles being dangerous and difficult to use for them.

The difficulty of threading always required the presence of an adult to help the children. Threading a wool or other thread even in the large enough eye of a metal needle is not within the reach of children who do not have enough strength and precision in their fingers.

 Very often in work, the needle comes off and the child fails to find someone next to him to thread his needle, abandons his work and disgusts himself.

 Also, we have developed a plastic needle presenting no danger of use for children. The safety of use of toys is today the subject of reinforced control by the public authorities.

Thanks to the thin parts of the eye of the needle fig: Al it can open fig: B 2 by pressing on a hard part; this large opening facilitates the passage of wool through the eye. The threading can thus title made by any child even little adroit.

Through work in the work, the eye tends to return to its original form.

 In addition when we tighten the thread in the work a certain traction takes place on the thread; also by this single pull the wire or wool gets stuck in the upper part of the eye which is split: fig C 3; this retention of the wire prevents it from threading and thus facilitates work.

Claim 1 Needle intended for making embroideries on canvas or large canvas characterized in that it is made of plastic material, safe for use by children, and in that its eye has thin parts such that they can open by simple pressure on a hard part. Claim 2 Needle according to claim 1 characterized in that the upper part of the eye is split to allow the thread or the wool to come and stuck.
