Abstract

The barrel containing a beverage such as beer or lemonade, to be mixed with CO2 gas, has a compartment under the liquid, containing the gas under pressure. The gas can be in a container secured between the base of the liquid chamber and a lid secured by bolts, protected by a vertical flange around the base of the barrel. The interior of the gas container is connected to the top of the liquid compartment by a tube through the vertical double wall of the barrel. At the bottom of this tube is a control valve protected by the bottom flange, accessible through an opening through the flange. This tube also has an opening inside the gas container allowing the gas to pass into the tube and upwards to the liquid.
