Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de détection passive de fuites dans un tuyau enterré contenant un fluide sous pression. L'appareil de l'invention comprend un premier détecteur 20 d'ondes acoustiques disposé en contact acoustique avec le tuyau 12 au niveau d'un premier emplacement 14, un deuxieme détecteur 22 disposé en contact acoustique avec le tuyau en un deuxième emplacement 16, des moyens 30, 31, 32, 33 connectés au deuxième détecteur afin de communiquer jusqu'au premier emplacement le signal détecté par le deuxième détecteur, et un moyen 24 qui répond au signal du premier détecteur et au signal communiqué par le deuxième détecteur en mesurant la corrélation entre les signaux. Cette corrélation peut être interprétée pour indiquer la distance séparant la fuite du premier et du deuxième emplacement. L'invention s'applique plus particulièrement aux tuyaux transportant des fluides corrosifs s ou inflammables, spécialement lorsque le sol porte un revêtement solide, par exemple en ciment.
