Abstract

The table tennis table is for use outdoors and is made from several concrete sections. The table top (1) is a single piece and is supported by legs (2,3) made in two parts. Each part of the legs is a reversed T-shape placed transversely to the table top, near its longitudinal extremities. A band of concrete (4) fixed on the upper surface of the table top forms a net. It can be fixed by mortice and tenon joint so that it can easily be removed. The feet are joined to the table top by nuts and bolts.

Description

The present invention relates to a table tennis table, commonly known by the expression "ping-pong table".

We know that traditionally tables for table tennis are made of wood. As a result, when they are placed outside, for example in courtyards or gardens, where they are affected by the weather, they deteriorate very quickly, as do their nets. To avoid this drawback, it is then necessary to return said tables inside premises, but this does not prevent a certain amount of maintenance and very often requires said tables to be produced in the form of a foldable structure.

The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks. It relates to a table tennis table which can remain permanently outside without deteriorating, while being easily transportable.

To this end, according to the invention, the table for tennis is remarkable in that it consists of a plurality of molded concrete elements which can be assembled together.

Preferably, this table comprises a single-piece tray supported by a base in two parts. Each part of the base may consist of a concrete section with inverted T section, arranged transversely to said plate, in the vicinity of a longitudinal end thereof. We thus obtain a freestanding table.

The removable assembly between the plate and the two parts of the base can be obtained by means of fixing elements, of the bolt and nut type for example.

Advantageously, as a net, a strip-shaped concrete element is provided, supported on the upper face of the plate. The fixing of said strip on the plate can be removable and be, for example, made in the form of tenons which fit with play in mortises.

It is thus easily seen that, thanks to the invention, a table tennis table is obtained which is able to withstand weathering particularly well, while being easily displaceable and storable.

The figures of the appended drawing will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

Figure 4 illustrates, on a larger scale, the mounting of the separation strip serving as a net.

The table tennis table shown in these figures comprises a plate 1, supported by a base 2, 3 and provided with a projecting separation strip 4 acting as a net.

The plate 1, the base 2.3 and the strip 4 are individual elements made of molded concrete.

The tray 1 is rectangular and the size of a standard table tennis table. The base 2, 3 is formed of two profiled pieces with a section approximately in the shape of an inverted T, bearing on the ground by the transverse bar of said T and supporting said plate by the end of the vertical bar of the T, opposite to said bar transverse.

Each profiled part 2 or 3 is arranged transversely to the plate and has a length less than the width of the latter. The two parts 2 and 3 are spaced from each other so as to be in the vicinity of the longitudinal ends of said plate, while being set back from the longitudinal end edges of the latter.

The underside of the plate 1 is integral with protruding threaded rods 5, introduced into corresponding vertical holes in parts 2 and 3 and whose free ends appear in openings 6 of said parts. Thus, the ends of the nuts 7 can be screwed in, so that the plate 1 and the parts 2 and 3 can be secured in a removable manner by screwing the nuts 7 onto the rods 5, through the openings 6. In the upper face of the plate 1 are provided sleeves 8. In these sleeves 8 can be inserted with clearance projecting rods 9 integral with the lower part of the strip 4. Thus, the latter can rest by its lower flat face 10 on the upper face of the plate, while being held in an easily removable manner by the cooperation of the rods 9 and of the sleeves 8. The length of the strip 4 is greater than the width of the plate 1, so that it projects beyond and else of it.

1.- Table for table tennis, characterized in that it consists of a plurality of molded concrete elements, which can be assembled together. 2.- Table according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a tray in one piece, supported by a base in two parts. 3.- Table according to claim 2, characterized in that each part of the base is constituted by a concrete profile with inverted T section, arranged transversely to said plate, in the vicinity of a longitudinal end thereof. 4.- Table according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the assembly between the plate and its base is obtained by means of removable fastening elements 5.- Table according to any one of claims 1 - 4, characterized in that, as a net, it comprises a strip-shaped concrete element, attached to the upper face of the plate. 6.- Table according to claim 5, characterized in that the connection between said strip and the plate is removable, so that said strip can be easily removed. 7.- Table according to claim 6, characterized in that said connection is of the tenon and mortise type with clearance.
