Abstract

The sensor comprises two vertical elements (l, 2) one of which is mounted on the balance platform (22) while the other is mounted under the platform via two seating areas (3, 4) on horizontal elements (5, 6) and a vertical element (7). Two holes (16) allow thin sections (12, 13, 10, 15) to be obtained at equal distances from the vertical axis. These form articulation points for the frame and correction is applied by cutting sections from the exterior surface of the elements. Strain gauges (21) on the adjacent sections of the two holes measure the force applied to the platform by deformation of the vertical elements. The addition or removal of metal from the deforming elements allow the required tolerances to be obtained.
