Abstract

The wind driven generator comprises curved blades which are perpendicular to the wind flow in the style of a paddle wheel. Mounted at the hub of the wheel are electric generator. A deflector which directs the wind flow around the periphery of the wind turbine is positioned by a fin which is positioned by the wind so the fin is parallel to the wind direction. The wind driven generators may be mounted either with horizontal or vertical axis and may be stacked on a common mounting to increase the power output. Electrical connections are taken off in the conventional manner and electromagnetic braking may be provided by a suitable electric input to the generator.
