Le vérin 21 reste alimenté, et par suite les crochets 19 restent en leur position aval extrême, jusqu'à ce que toutes les feuilles de la serie à empiler soient passées sur le convoyeur 1. Lorsque la dernière feuille est passée, l'absence de carton est detectée par la cellule photoélectrique 17. Cette dernière émet alors un signal électrique commandant d'une part le relevage du skip 6 et d'autre part l'arrêt de l'alimentation en air comprimé du vérin 21, ce qui entraîne le retrait de sa tige et par suite le retour du chariot 12 en sa position amont extrême de la figure 1 contre la butée 18.
