Abstract

The device comprises a thin plastics leaf which has an extension for facilitating insertion into the mouth. The main part of the leaf has a tongue cut-out of the centre. The opening formed by the cut-out is positioned over the tooth under observation. The leaf is made in a neutral grey colour which shows up the colour of the isolated tooth, while blocking out the variations in lighting in the mouth.
