Abstract

A method of vaporising fluids partic. liquefied petroleum gases contd. in a tank consists of taking a part of the fluid from the tank in the liq. phase and charging it to an enclosure contg. an outlet for the fluid in the gaseous phase and creating in the enclosure two zones at different temps. One of the zones is heated so that the temp. in that zone is high to ensure vapourisation of the fluid which is made to circulate in that zone. The vapourised fluid is discharged through the outlet of the enclosure. The vapouriser comprises a vertical vessel with an inlet for fluid in the liq. phase and an outlet for fluid in the gaseous phase, a vertical tubular partition dividing the space in the enclosure into two coaxial zones, two communicating passages between the two zones one near the inlet and the other near the outlet and a heat exchanger housed in one of the zones. A baffle is placed between the outlet and the heated zone. An installation for feeding a utilisation group with gas comprises a tank of fluid stored in the liq. phase and a pipe connecting the tank to the utilisation group, the installation being fitted with such a vapouriser. The invention eliminates inconveniences of existing systems consisting e.g. of heating the liq. gas in the tank itself necessitating a special tank and requiring a large amt. of heat.
