Abstract

The threaded insert is for the assembly of panels and comprises a hollow bush (2) with two rebated wings (3a,3b) which mate with the external surface (10) of the bush. The unit is a single integral plastics moulding. When the insert is pushed into a hole in the panel, the level of the wings (3a,3b) stands proud of the panel surface, but the top of the bush (2b) is flush with the panel surface. The external form of the bush is tapered (13) so that the insert becomes locked into the hole by the wings.
