Abstract

A climber's sock is provided with a gaiter or spat which is attached to the leg of the sock and may fold down to cover the top of a climbing boot or a walking shoe. The spat is intended to prevent the entry of snow stones or twigs between the sock and the shoe. The spat may be made of the same material as the sock, or of different material, and sewn or stuck on to it. The spat may be folded away from the boot, to cover the leg part of the sock.
