Abstract

The forced-draught burner (1) draws air in via a combustion-air duct (2) which is connected via a flow shaft (3) to a waste-gas pipe (5) in the vicinity of the waste-gas pipe piece (4) leading to the chimney. If there is not sufficient draught, so that the waste gases accumulate in the chimney, then they are pressed into the flow shaft (3) and drawn in by the burner again. In the case of a corresponding air shortage, the flame of the burner (1) changes or goes out completely, as a result of which the burner, which is monitored by a flame failure controller, is switched off. In normal operation, ambient air is added to the waste gas via the flow shaft (3), as a result of which the waste gas is thinned and condensate formation in the waste-gas ducts is reduced. In standstill periods of the burner (1), less air flows through the waste-gas pipe (5) as a result of the flow shaft (3), so that the boiler is cooled less by unwanted draught.
