Abstract

The two part connector is designed to protect circuitry connected to the connector A from static and electromagnetic pick-up when disconnected from part B. The sliding part (9) rests normally on an insulating sleeve (7) but when the two halves of the connector are separated it is pushed out by a spring (16) and shorts the contact pin (8) by wiping contacts (13,15) to the body of the connector which is earthed. An insulating part (4) is situated in the exterior component, typically a box and has a flat end face parallel with the insulator (18) in the other part of the component.
