Abstract
The lighting source uses incandescent filament lamps connected physically and electrically in series. The lamp series may have a straight or curved configuration and is housed in a transparent or translucent tube (1) of a glass capable of surviving the heat generated by the lamps, e.g. borosilicate glass. Each lamp (8,9) is tubular and would, typically of 24 volt, 5 watt. Connection is made via conical electrodes (12,13) at each end of the lamps making direct contact with each other via these electrodes. The source may be clipped in position within a fixed or free-standing reflector where one supply wire can be brought back through the clips to allow power supply to one end only rather than to both.
