Abstract
Connector electrode both penetrating the insulation of a single wire and mechanically securing the insulation surface. The connector is suitable for general and telecommunications use and esp. for automatic switches. The electrode consists of a single folded and punched approximately rectangular metal strip which has a square U-shaped cross-section (1). Each electrode is held within an overall insulating block (4) with T-shaped pillars (5) holding each electrode in place and isolating it from its neighbours. The contacting and securing pressed out sections can vary in position and shape but consists basically of two leaves (7) folded inwards at right angles from the base to cut through the wire insulation (17) and make electrical contact and two further leaves (16) folded inwards from the side walls at an acute angle which partly cut into the insulation and resist traction on the wire.
