Abstract

The security bolt has a body fixed to the edge of a door and a catch fixed to the door frame or a second door lead. The bolt proper slides into engagement with the catch. The bolt also has a bar, chain or rope (14) engaging a notch formed in the bolt proper (5) when the latter is inserted in the catch (6). The bar is secured to a fixed portion, e.g. the door frame, typically via a base fixed inside the catch. The bar can have a flattened tip passing through a narrower opening leading to the main part of the notch, and a main portion which can only be accommodated in the main part.
