Abstract

A circular saw with a fixed worktable can be adapted to cut mitre joints by means of a simple fixture. The fixture consists of a curved arm (11) with an end plate (14) with its surface aligned with the centre of curvature of the slot (12) which extends for almost the length of arm (11). The workpiece (18) is pressed against the stop plate (14) with the curved arm (11) clamped to one of two bars (8). These bars (8) are fitted on opposite sides of the saw blade (7) and slide in guides (20) in the worktable (2). The provision of two bars (8) enables the stop-plate (14) with its arm (11) to be turned through 180 deg..
