Abstract

The installation is of the type in which each ingredient is conveyed from its individual silo to a central combining unit. The combining unit now comprises a distributor into which each ingredient in turn is delivered. The ingredients are received into pockets of a honeycombed reception cell. The pockets are emptied into a weight hopper ready for discharge for further treatment, partic. milling and mixing. Ingredients level detectors and wt. sensors are used to actuate fully automatic control, pref. by electronics, of the complete installation. The combining unit now receives many small doses of each ingredient in turn so that the combining unit is eventually filled with a full batch made up of many thin layers of individual ingredients. The weigh hopper pref. discharges into a grinding mill. Followed by a cyclone delivering into a mixer. Premixing takes place in the combining unit which receives ingredients as a multitude of tiny doses.
