Abstract

Weft gripping jaws are mounted on the rotating shaft of a disc type beat up motion in a travelling wave loom. The jaws are displaceable towards the shed so as to be opened by a stationary cam and snip the weft, and then move away from the shed. Only one of the jaws is movable and is elastically biassed towards the other. The weft is positively gripped by the jaws and thus can be adequately tensioned during beating up.
