Abstract

Oven is for cooking food prods., partic. for baking loaves of bread. Over is of the type which contains a horizontal, rotary platform on which trollies of prod. are carried during the baking process. Oven has a doorway through which trollies are passed into and out of the oven chamber. From the exterior, the bottom edge of the doorway is approached via an inclined ramp up which trollies are wheeled. A door is hinged to close against a resilient seal surrounding the doorway on the outside of the oven. The ramp is non retractable into the oven by mechanical action of the door as it closes. The ramp is hinged along the lower horizontal edge of the doorway. As the door closes it swings the ramp upwards and right over its hinge so that the ramp lies entirely inside the closed door. Opening the door replaces the ramp ready for trollies to roll in or out of the oven. The door pref. has a striker fixed to its interior face near its vertical hinge. The striker, contact a buffer on the ramp, and/or the ramp itself, to swing the ramp in and out of the oven. Used as a retractable ramp for loading/discharging a bakery oven with trollies of bread.
