Abstract

The wind mill mechanism includes a shaft (4) on which the blades are mounted. A cam (13) is eccentrically mounted on the same shaft, and has a circular groove (16) which is also not centred on the shaft. The groove is defined by two eccentric circles (13A, 13B). Two bearings (15) are attached to a plate (14) which keeps them a fixed distance apart. The bearings are arranged to run in the circular cam groove. A push-rod (13) is also attached to the plate and passes through a self-lubricating metal ring in the base (1). Rotation of the cam causes the push-rod to move up and down, providing the reciprocating movement to drive the pump. An electric generator may also be connected to the rotating shaft, to provide an electric supply.
