Abstract

The stabiliser for a towed caravan (2) has the ability to transfer weight from the rear to the front tractor (1) wheels. It has two flexible arms (5) on the caravan drawgear. The other end has a frusto-conical friction pivot co-operating with the tractor drawgear. The free end of each arm is moved to adjust the force exerted by it on the pivot. Each arm takes the form of a leaf spring snd the coned pivot (8) is solid with one end of each arm. The pivot has a friction lining and is mounted in angled bearings.
