Abstract

The system transports live birds from a rearing house and loads them onto a lorry. The birds are conveyed by a series of belts to a chute, and from there to a distribution belt on a gantry which can be raised mechanically or hydraulically. On the gantry are small retractable belts at right an angles to the distribution belt and extending directly into the cages on the lorry. The birds are transferred onto the belts by the opertors.
