Abstract

The deep-freezer comprises a body accommodating the contents, and a door, together with a seal between the two whose foot is secured in a groove. A pressure-equalisation device comprises one or more air passages. These each consist of an intermediate chamber (10) extending for a set length between the foot (8) of the seal (6) and the groove (9) securing it, on the one hand; and on the other of a transverse connection 11, 12) at each end of the chamber. One of these connects the chamber to the ambient air and the other to the freezer interior.
