Abstract

An electromagnetically operated valve controls the flow of fluid under pressure to the injector for an IC engine. The injector is of the direct type and has a needle valve which is hydraulically assisted to cope with any injection pressure and flow. An injector has an injection carrier through which a cylindrical hole passes with three successive shoulders to define an upper, intermediate and a lower space. The injector nozzle is mounted freely in the lower space and an upper and lower annular shoulder define an annular throat A blind cylindrical hole has a conical area to form a seal for the injector needle whose upper end is fixed to the moving palette of an electromagnet with an excitation windin.
