Abstract

The large-capacity storage tank for fluids is particularly for the storage of warm water. Its sidewalls(2) emanating from the baseplate(1) are curved dishes or dished sections, whose radii are inversely proportional to the fluid pressure, which varies with the height of the fluid column. For roughly a quarter of the curve they follow the pattern of an ellipse standing upright, whose major semi-axis is equal to the maximum height of the column in the tank, while its minor semi-axis is equal to half this height.
