Abstract

The hand or key operated latch has a leaf bolt that is held firmly in its locked or unlocked position by a right angle flexible spring. The box (2) or the latch (1) is fixed to the opening with countersunk fixings and the leaf bolt (13) is moved in the hollow (11) by grip or key working the shaft (14). In the locked position the edge (20) of the flexible spring presses against edge (18) of the leaf bolt holding it in position and in the unlocked position the back end of the leaf bolt (19) drops into the groove (27).
