Abstract

For recovery tempering of a reactor pressure vessel (1), an insulating hollow-cylindrical holding body (3) carrying the heating device (2) is inserted into the emptied pressure vessel. The holding body (3) is brought into engagement, making a seal, with the cover flange (1f1) and the inner periphery of the bottom sphere (1d) of the pressure vessel (1) in such a way that a convection space (11) is formed between the holding body and the thermal shield (9). The holding body (3) carries a heating device (2), by means of which a stream of hot air or hot gas can be generated which can be passed through the convection space (11), from there to the annular gap (12) formed between the thermal shield and the pressure vessel wall, and from there back again to the heating elements (2a).
