PAR PYROLYSE ULTERIEURE, EFFECTUEE APRES SEPARATION DES PRODUITS DE REACTION, DE L'ACETATE PHENOLIQUE ET DU DIACETATE DE METHYLENE, ON OBTIENT RESPECTIVEMENT UN PHENOL ET DU FORMALDEHYDE.METHOD OF OXIDIZING METHYL BENZENES WITH A VIEW TO OBTAINING PHENOLIC ACETATE ON THE ONE HAND AND METHYLENE DIACETATE OR FORMALDEHYDE ON THE OTHER HAND. IT CONSISTS OF MAKING A METHYL BENZENE REACT WITH AIR OR OXYGEN, IN THE PRESENCE OF A STRONG ACID CATALYST, ACETIC ANHYDRIDE OR A COMBINATION OF ACETIC ACID-PO, AND BENZALDEHYDE, AT WATER TEMPERATURE. MINUS 80C AND UNDER PRESSURE OF AT LEAST 1ATMOSPHERE. BY SUBSEQUENT PYROLYSIS, CARRIED OUT AFTER SEPARATION OF THE REACTION PRODUCTS, PHENOLIC ACETATE AND METHYLENE DIACETATE, A PHENOL AND FORMALDEHYDE RESPECTIVELY OBTAINED.
