Abstract
Appts. comprises a body with raw material inlets and prod. outlets. It contains a rotating atomising unit which consists of curved channels in a multiple stage spiral formation diverging from the axis of the atomiser with spaces between the windings. Some of the channels are displaced in a direction parallel to the atomiser axis so that the outer extremities of the channels are located on different planes perpendicular to the axis. The appts. is used for to effect cooling or preheating of gases or liqs. and the moistening of a gas. It is partic. useful for concn. by evaporation and for distn. of materials sensitive to high temps. aliphatic acids, polyatomic alcohols, ethanolamines, oils, food and pharmaceutical products. The atomiser produces an intense degree of atonisation which renders more efficient the exchange process in the appts.
