Abstract

The disc brake mounting for a railway wheel with two half segments applied to each side of the wheel disc. Each segment is secured by two special fasteners(6, 9) with the four fasteners on each side diametrically opposite each other. One fastener secures the segment radially while the other has a sliding fit. The sliding fit is provided by parallel faces(10) about the securing bolt so that thermal expansion can be accommodated without distortion. The fasteners on each segment are equally spaced from the middle line(c.d) through the segment.
