Abstract

A pedal grip is attached to the sole of a shoe to allow a cyclist to exert a tractive force as well as pressure on the pedal to multiply the action. The grip is capable of being locked in any required position to reduce fatigue. A pedal grip (1) comprises a moulded section of an aluminium alloy containing silicon. It has a support surface against which the sole of a shoe is applied. A transverse slot (4) receives the blade of a pedal and is defined by a boss (5) across the width of the grip. The other side is defined by two symmetrical bosses (6, 7) between which is a central housing (8). This contains a longitudinal slot (9) through which a screw (11) with a washer (12) passes to screw into a threaded location in the sole of a shoe.
