Abstract

The safety brake system is for a trailer in which a yoke leve(19) is pivoted between two brake cylinders(23, 26) to operate the brake lever(17) link to the trailer brakes(16). a spring(30) at one end provides a safety brake if the supply brake pressure fails. The brakes are controlled by a valve(12) which provides a holding pressure to counteract the spring. To operate the brakes the pressure is raised to a second level. The yoke provides a simple failsafe control with a second brake cylinder at the other end spring loaded into the off position.
