Abstract

A gusset and garment are rotated through >=360 degrees during seaming so as to stitch the gusset to the garment with a continuous seam. A single seam secures the gusset. Pref. the gusset is retained by suction on a pair of tubes during seaming. The tubes are relatively axially movable to assist in locating the gusset and garment edges together. The tubes can be circular or elliptical, or be substituted in part by hinged plate-like ends to accommodate different shaped gussets. The finished seamed gusset can be sucked down the central tube to a container.
