Abstract
Thermostatic control of the air into a carburettor is provided by an electronic system. This overcomes problem of response time from wax thermostats and also the variable supply to a pneumatic system. The electronic system has infinite adjustment for temperature range. A temp. probe is located in the air intake to a carburrettor. The temperature range is adjusted by a potentiometer and a voltage proportional to temp. is applied via a resistor to a differential input amplifier. A zener diode and resistor circuit provide a stable voltage from the vehicle battery via polarity inversion protection diodes. The amplifier non-inverting input is driven from a potentiometer coupled to a motor assembly which controls the hot and cold air mixture valve. This motor is driven from the amplifier output via a power transistor stage.
