Abstract

The lens-supporting ring is for the assembly of spectacles. It has a split profiled section whose ends are equipped with assembly dies brought together by a clamping screw. One of the dies (5) has a boss (8) fixed to it, engaging in a bore (9) in the other one (6), so as to bring the two ring ends into exact alignment. The boss and the bore can be of polygonal and preferably square cross section, so as to prevent any relative angular movement of the ends of the profiled section and thus any bending or torsional effect.
