Abstract

The apparatus has an elongate frame (1) which can be fastened essentially vertically to a shaft of the weaving machine and on one side of which a thread guide (9) projects in the region of each of its two end portions and above the side of which, provided with the thread guides, runs a pair of needles (11) which extend from the thread guides towards the middle in the longitudinal direction of the frame and the tips of which are located opposite and at a slight distance from one another and each have a guide eye for the standing threads. Guided slideably in the frame is a slide (2), in which two thread-guide levers (18) with guide eyes (19) for the leno threads are arranged. The thread-guide levers cooperate with control cams arranged on the frame (10) and are pivoted to and fro by these, during their lifting movement, between the tips of the needles (11) in relation to the standing threads.
