Abstract
The high voltage neon lamp is built into a bracelet or pendant. A metallic sensor conducts static charges which cause the neon to flash to create an aesthetic effect. A static charge sensor (1) has a large surface area with which to capture the charges. A high voltage neon lamp (5) is mounted on the sensor and is backed by a mirror surface to augment intensity of light from it. One neon electrode (6) is connected by wire (9) to the sensor while the other electrode (5) is connected by a wire passing through an insulator (8) to a conductor at the rear of the pendant and which contacts the neck of the wearer. Potential differences between the conductor and sensor due to static electricity cause the neon to flash.
