Abstract
Procédé de séparation d'isotopes consistant à maintenir dans une colonne chromatographique un palier isotopique en formant une bande d'absorption très large de manière à séparer nettement les zones enrichies des zones épuisées au début et à la fin du chromatogramme aucun produit n'est soutiré de la colonne jusqu'à ce que la fraction atomique de l'isotope recherché ait atteint la valeur d'enrichissement désirée. Application à la production de lithium-6 par alimentation d'une série de colonnes contenant une résine échangeuse d'ions avec une solution d'acétate de lithium 1 pour former une bande d'absorption de lithium. On utilise comme éluant une solution d'acétate de sodium 2 et une solution d'acide acétique 3 pour régénérer la résine. La partie hachurée 4 indique la bande d'absorption de lithium et la partie tachetée la résine éluée sous la forme sodium 5 ou sous la forme acide 6.
