Abstract

The process comprises feeding a part of the vapour coming from the evapn. of the product being concnd. to the head of the evapn. tubes of the evaporator. The recycling of the vapour allows the rate of concn. to be increased without risk of deterioration of the product being conc. The process is economical because the vapour utilised comes from the evapn. itself and it is not necessary to utilise external vapour. The evaporator is constituted by an evapn. body comprising a feed chamber fitted with an inlet for product to be conc. and surmounting a heating body fitted with an inlet for heating vapour and an outlet for condensed vapour and in which are evapn. tubes. An extn. chamber at the bottom of the body is connected by a vapour pipe to a separator. Vapour leaves by a pipe while the liq. flows through a pipe to a discharge pipe for conc. product.
