Abstract

The connector between two pipes fits inside the end of each and is sealed to them by a ring at each end. A relieved portion of the union forms a first mounting for the ring before insertion and a second one afterwards, the ring rolling over a cone portion between the two. The cone (6) is of larger dia. than the first mounting (4), which accommodates the ring (5) before insertion. It can be arranged to widen for most or all of its length in the direction of the second mounting (7), which is in the form of an annular groove.
