Abstract

The heat exchanger has rectangular- or square-section elements, particularly in the form of dry air tubes. The elements are inclined to the horizontal (12) at between 15 and 45 deg., and the V- or inverted-V-section intervening spaces (4a, 4b) accommodate the pipes (7, 8) contg. the medium to be cooled, or the medium itself directly - in the latter case being covered over. The covers can be cowls of U- or inverted-U-section, curving outwards. The design makes maximum use of the cooling surface available.
