Abstract

The rapid release buckle comprises a body equipped with an automatic lock for holding a plate fixed to the end of a harness strap. A second catch forms a trapezoidal ring with two slots, this being used for the thigh strap. A safety catch is also provided, this is a semicircular ring divided centrally into two parts. It locks the assembly together. Finally, a wire catch is attached to a strap for collapsing the parachute. The whole unit can be immediately released by striking a lever on the main body.
