Abstract

The stopper has a central throated portion which is fitted on the outside with a moulded soft rubber washer (6). The throated portion has a smooth wall and a grooved portion which locates the washer. The groove in the washer is in the centre of the lower half to prevent the washer riding upwards. The sides of the stopper are generally conical and fit inside a conical neck in the container.
