Abstract

The control valve has one outlet port (16) in line with the inlet port (13) and a second outlet port (14) at right angles to them. Between the first two ports and in line with the latter, is a differential piston (30) in a small diameter chamber in the bottom of the housing. This piston has a ball valve (40) near the bottom controlling a channel (34) down its central axis, with side ports (36 etc.) facing the first two ports. The head of the differential piston projects into a large control chamber (26) at the top of the housing. This carries a plate with an outer spring (42) above it, tending to hold it down. Above the plate is a body (50) forming a capacity limiter. This houses a plunger with an inner spring (70) supported on its bottom flange.
