Abstract

Solar collector comprises a tubular element in which a heat transport fluid circulates, the tubular element being embedded in powdered MoS2. The MoS2 absorbs and stores the solar heat, which becomes distributed throughout the powdered mass and is thus delivered up to the heat exchange fluid in the tubular element more efficiently than in prior systems. The MoS2 is virtually non-toxic and has high thermal stability (temps. of +175 degrees C with peaks of +240 degrees C can be attained without deterioration). The use of MoS2 increases the output yield of the collector. The collectors can be used for heating houses and greenhouses, industrial heating, steam raising, etc.
