Abstract

The self-propelled machine is used to place stressing wires above a stressing bed in prepn. for casting prestressed concrete beams. The tractor traverses the bed in the longitudinal sense. It is also equipped to clean the bed. The tractor has four wheel drive and is controlled by an operator on a footplate. The machine has a rear-mounted slotted angle iron to which the wires are secured by wedges A front-mounted sprinkler bar has a valved feed from water tank leading a vertically adjustable rotating brush with a dust pan. Separate electric motors may effect propulsion and brush rotation, utilising chain and pinion and belt drives respectively. In addition the machine may travel on rails, and the dust pan may have pivotable cover together with side walls deflectors and a flexible lead-in apron.
