Abstract

The piece part such as a push rod with a working surface which is concave or convex is checked by a flat template. By moving the part relative to the template a probe senses any irregularities. A push rod (1) is placed in a V-block (2) and a template (3) is located adjacent to it. A moving element (4) of a movement probe is attached to the template and its fixed element (5) is mounted in a support (6). A pneumatic jack controlling a stop (7) exerts a force on the push rod against the probe. A motor (10) driven friction wheel (9) rotates the push rod and an indicator (16) provides a recording of roughness.
