Abstract

The dials on the dashboard of a vehicle give a direct reading of the total weight on each axle and also the weight of the merchandise being carried, audible or visible warning is given when an upper load limit is exceeded. A gauge is mounted in a box on each axle of the vehicle to measure flexing of the suspension w.r.t. a fixed point on the axle by a sliding element with its end firmly attached to the axle. The gauges are coupled via transmission paths to dials with scaled moving discs which provide a reading of the load.
