Abstract

The connector, for wire ends, consists of a holder (9) through which the wire (26) passes and a plug (3) that plugs into a socket in one end of the holder. The plug is hollow and contains conducting fibres (6) aligned with their axes parallel to the wire. When the plug is inserted the end of the wire presses into these fibres and electrical contact is established between the two. An external contact connects with the fibres. Alternatively, the fibres may be replaced by a conducting powder held together by fibrous matter.
